I have a passion for books, authors, and publishers, and I also have more than 25 years of experience in IT. I’ve combined the two industries to design and develop book trailers and websites for authors, publishers, and small businesses. Below is an introduction video followed by some of my projects and capabilities. Please contact me for additional information and pricing. No job is too small or too large!

Think of a book trailer like a movie trailer—in one to three minutes, you can convey the mood, introduce your characters, reveal the plot (but not the spoilers!), and hook potential readers.

The trailer usually consists of six to ten high-quality images with text overlaid on each. A title page appears at the front and end of the trailer with details about your book and a link to your website or desired URL. The music is selected based on the mood you wish to convey. I can use the images and music you provide or obtain them for you. Credits roll at the end of the trailer.

Below is the trailer for one of my books, April in the Back of Beyond. In less than ninety seconds, you know the place, the main character, and the plot. The music helps to convey the mood.

Sample pages from websiteYour website is your calling card. It provides the public with information about you and your books, but it does much more. It should capture readers’ attention by adding movement (such as books sliding onto the screen) and a behind-the-scenes look at your writing. Videos can consist of book trailers or you speaking about your writing or other topics your audience might find interesting.

A website generally consists of the following pages: Home Page, About, Contact, and Products.

Each book should have its own product page. You can choose to sell your books from your website. The advantages are higher profit per book, obtaining your reader’s contact information for future releases, and personalizing/autographing it. The disadvantage is you’ll need to package and mail the book to them. If you choose to sell your books online, I work with WooCommerce, Shopify, PayPal, and others.

If you choose not to sell your books directly, you should link to online sites such as Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and more.

You may wish to add much more to your website such as blogs or articles or links to other authors, books, or sites. You should also link to any social media sites where you wish to connect with your readers.

I work with you to determine the mood of your website through color and advanced UX (User eXperience) and UI (User Interface), and together we decide which pages you’d like to have. You can always add, subtract, and change pages along the way.

Social media postsA social media presence is more important than ever, as more than 70% of the population in the United States report participating in at least one social media platform. However, you can’t select one or more at random. You should know the demographics of each platform and where your potential clients/customers tend to hang out.

That’s where I come in. I can analyze your current social media platforms and compare your targeted audience with each platform’s demographics. Together, we can plan a social media strategy and how to measure results.

My work doesn’t end there. I can write the social media posts on an agreed-upon schedule and report the analytics afterward, so you know it’s working. I also provide an on-going spreadsheet of all marketing campaigns, so we know which posts worked best for your goals. You may want more phone calls, for example, more followers, more click-throughs to your website, or more online engagement.
